Subjects Covered: Clinical science, particularly degenerative disorders and diseases of later life.

Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens of the EU who are either currently employed in the UK or who, if not employed, have at some point been resident in the UK for a continuous period of three years other than for the sole purpose of receiving full-time education. Applicants must be medically qualified and should have, or will have by 1 October of the year of appointment, either a PhD or an MD.

Applicants should be at least 26 but should not have passed their 40th birthday on 1 October in the year of application. They may be immediately postdoctoral but should also not have more than seven years' research experience by 1 October in the year of application.

Length of Tenure: Five years.

Place of Tenure: Applicants should propose to hold the appointment in a department in a British university or a recognised clinical research establishment and should note that they will not be considered if they already hold a substantive post in such a department or in a European Union university. (A substantive post is one which is permanent, ie not a fixed-term contract).

Number Funded: 1.

Frequency: As vacancies occur.

Value: The salary will be paid on the Senior Registrar scale, with London Allowance where appropriate, together with annual research expenses, travel expenses and a contribution to baggage costs for a successful applicant from overseas.
