Conditions of payment of grant

Grantees are required to submit evidence of their use of the grant to the Royal Society. This may be in the form of used tickets for travel or a copy of the conference registration document.

Grantees in receipt of a payment for child care costs must also provide the Society with a receipt from a professional child care agency.

Grants are not transferable and a grantee who is unable to use the award for the purpose set out in his or her application must return it to the Royal Society.

Grants cannot be paid ahead of need, but a grant can be paid as soon as the grantee requires the award to book flights for example.

Claim forms, which will be sent to successful applicants, should be returned completed to indicate the payee, which may be either the applicant or their institution.

Claim forms must be signed by the applicant. A cheque cannot be issued on the authority of an unsigned form.
