Information about Dutch Freemasonry

What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry
is:
A method,
A way of learning,
A meeting place for man who are interested
in more than only every day live.
Freemasonry is essentially a way to get more
insight in yourself
What can the Freemasons lodge offer you?
The
lodge offers you the possibility, in cooperation with companions,
and learning from them, to develope your personality.
The lodge supports her members in that endeavour
with teh help of the performance of rituals where symbols play an
important part.
This intensifies someone's own spiritual life an can have a
favourable influence on society.

What distinguishes Freemasonry from other spiritual
organisations?
Freemasonry
has much in common with some of them, but the important
difference consists in the working method wich is characterisized
by the use of rituals and symbols in the Lodge.
What is the substance of the rituals and the
symbols?
The
building symbolism, heritage of the craftguilds of the Middle
Ages, forms a important part of it.
The freemason considers life and society as a building, yet to
complete.
He makes it his duty to shape the rough stone, a symbol of
himself, into a cubic, one wich fits in this building of living
stones.
Apart from the building symbolism, use is also made of elements
belonging to the light symbolism.
Freemasonry is something you must give form
to yourself!
Exchanging thoughts and ideas is therefore
made possible without raising antagonism!
First of all: a Freemason respects opinions
an feelings of others.
"It is your
responsibility"

is something freemasons
perceived long ago
Certainty isn't something Freemasonry will
offer you
because certainty does not exist in life!
