Dear Sirs, My family has been active in Masonry for many years. My father is a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and has just received his 50 year pin from the Shrine. He and his family were all miners, originally from Cornwall. The Treglowns came to the US and helped start the Linden Lodge No. 206 (Wisconsin) in 1877. My grandfather moved west to Butte, Montana, where he died of miner' lung. I do not know if my father's maternal relatives were Masons, but they were also Cornish miners named Pope who came to the US via Negaunee, Michigan. Do the Masons have records that might help me find out the names of my great grand parents or anything more about their lives? Do any Cornish Masons "out there" have any generalizations to make that might help to understand the family story? Thank you for your consideration. This is an excellent and easy to use site. Best wishes to Masonry in the next Millenium.

Excellent Web site! I am trying to write a detailed defence of Freemasonry as a MM, against the charge we are Anti-Christian, Anti-God, and in the face of intense criticism of our craft by a local evangelical (Assembly of God) church. I wonder if there is any way that someone may be able to help / direct me? If so, please email me at Simon-Phillips@msn.com Obviously this site has been of use, but only to a certain extent. I recently heard a brief talk by W.Bro C.Hamilton and decided to find out for myself. 10 out of 10 for bringing Freemasonry into the modern world. Whilst I would never wish to change our traditional values and ceremonies, we do, however, need to tell the world how ordinary blokes enjoy Freemasonry and what an exceedingly honourable and charitable organisation it is. I refer to the article 'Wife of a Mason' who signs herself Linda. If I may make a few observations Linda; If you feel that your husband is going a little 'overboard'in his masonry, perhaps this will subside with time. My wife went through a similar situation many years ago now,and she joined the local WI group were she is now very active and I supprt her endeavors.Perhaps this is the answer to your obvious feeling of abandonement!

I dont suppose I'm am the oldest visitor but can anyone beat 71 with 48 years in the Craft. Its a great site and I enjoy reading most of the comments.
