Year Book

Unlike other Year Books it attempts not only to provided details of Grand Lodge, Provincial Grand Lodge and Daughter Lodge Office-bearers, Meeting Places and dates, etc., but also papers and articles on subjects of interest to Freemasons regardless of whether or not they are members of the Scottish Constitution. The submission of contributions for consideration for possible inclusion in future editions of the Year Book is most welcome.

This year the colour of the cover of the Year Book is RED (1998 edition was BLUE). After a number of years (1986 to 1997) of GREEN covers these changes of colour have been re-introduced in order to 'colour code' each edition. Of course the colours, Green and Gold, have no political or religious significance. Green and Gold are the colours of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and many older Lodges have those colours for their Lodge regalia.

The 1999 edition of the Year Book has an increased colour section, even bigger than last year's edition. This was necessary because Scottish Lodges, both at home and abroad, have submitted wonderful colour photographs displaying Scottish Freemasonry here and overseas. Scottish Freemasonry occupies a unique position in the Masonic world and the editor of the Year Book invites Brethren to continue to submit articles and photographs.

In order to continue to produce this valuable contribution to Freemasonry it is necessary to have a continuing flow of articles, photographs, and more importantly, orders for the Year Book. If you wish to advance your knowledge of Freemasonry in general and Scottish Freemasonry in particular then the Year Book is for you.
