Who is Willem?
A little insight
The person Willem is an ordinary guy, 40 years young, with a job and a few hobbies. Maybe he is a little weird too, but he leaves that is for others to judge! He could start growing to high!
Maybe you could start to judge that by working through all the pages. I am afraid that is only a start of knowing me....

Work
My job is at a company that works with all media. I work there as "workplace advisor". No I don't know anything about desks, except as user from this desk.
I am specialised in the box on the desk. The thing called "computer". My responsibility is giving advice on the operating system on this box and added software. The combination of software differs, depending of functions needed for the employee. Besides PC's my knowledge area extends to software on the servers on the network, especially as used for standard office applications.
To achieve this I have studied for a certificate from Microsoft (MCSE). I received the certification in september 1996. And ofcourse.... as the world turns will have to update this certification on regulary basis. The certification is composed on the next subjects: Windows NT Workstation, Windows NT Server, Windows 95, Microsoft Systems Management Server, Networking basics en Exchange Server.
This last year I have been working mainly on defining infrastructure on company critical software.
Hobbies en Free time
A few subjects: Playing around with computers, Science fiction, books and TV. Esoteric questions, most found through freemasonry, aquariums en paludariums and writing now and then.
Playing around with computers
Yep... it is my work as well as my hobby. Is this worrying you? But it is because of this hobby I did start the job I am having now. I would not know what job I would be having now otherwise. I don't know what is the best, cannot compare ofcourse. On the job I am looking and testing software, at home I am using it or playing. Especially at home I play with the Internet for surfing or chatting. Also I use the homecomputer for administration for myself or the lodge. Makes it seem usefull!
Science fiction
As I stated earlier I like science fiction, reading in books and watching TV.
The style I like is the style you find in Tolkien (as far you can call it science fiction), Jack Vance, Isaac Asmov, Frank Herbert (Dune).
Series and films on TV or movie I like to see are films like Star Trek (ofcourse!) and Star wars.
Esoteric questions
There are questions in life where neither computers or science fiction can have answers. Those are mostly questions of life. Many answers exists on these questions. For each answer you will have to search yourself again to see if this is 'your' answer.
Esotericism is a subject, remember I didn't study it yet thoroughly, in wich rich wishdom can be found. Esotericism is no course, but a source in wich people can find what they need. But they will have to search!
For me, my membership from freemasonry is a way to get many of the questions concerning esotericism. And only a few answers so far.... freemasonry is about searching. I only hope I will find time someday to find the answers!
Aquariums en Paludariums
Hmmm... we have arrived on my wishlist here. I have had a aquarium until a few years ago and still wish I would have one now. Time and money... are those two ever the problem?
Someday I will start again... for now... one of my dreams. And even my dreams are divided by priorities!
Thinking on a paludarium.... I don't know if it is an existing English term. A paludarium is partly land and partly water, supposed to be the riverside. In this paludarium plants and animal live is present from this riverside. It is beautiful to look at, hard to keep it working. Would be nice to make it work in the future....
Writing
More wishlist. Did do writing years ago, but forgot to hold on to it. I think many people in this world are like me. It still tickles.......
The few stories and poems I wrote are not very good. It is writing from an amateur. I liked to do it however... I will place some examples on the net soon.
