The Royal Society is in the process of establishing the American Friends of the Royal Society to help promote giving from US citizens or tax-paying residents as well as foundations and companies.

The American Friends will be a 501 (c) (3) company and enjoy full tax-exempt status from the IRS. This means all US tax payers can benefit from tax incentives on charitable gifts made to it whether these are gifts of cash, securities or bequests.
