The Royal Medals

The three Royal Medals (also known as The Queen’s Medals), are awarded annually upon the recommendation of the Council. Two are for the most important contributions to the advancement of Natural Knowledge (physical and biological sciences) and the other for distinguished contributions in the applied sciences. There is also a gift of £1000 associated with the medals which are awarded for contributions made within the British Commonwealth.
