The Esso Energy Award (1974)

EssoThe Royal Society Esso Energy Award, which consists of a gold medal and a prize of £2000, was instituted following agreement reached between the Royal Society and Esso Petroleum Company Limited (now Esso UK plc) for a special award for outstanding contributions to the advancement of science or engineering or technology leading to the more efficient mobilization, use or conservation of energy resources. 1999 was the last year for this Award, Anew one will be launched in 2001.
