The National Space Science Data Center (NSSDC) is NASA's deep archive and general distribution center for lunar and planetary data and images. More information about planetary sciences at the NSSDC is available.
- On 31 July the NEAR Shoemaker spacecraft was brought back up to a 51 x 49 km orbit. Over the following months it will back out to a higher orbit before moving in again for close observations. New images of Eros are also available.
- At a press conference held at 11:00 a.m. EDT Thursday, June 22, new images indicating evidence for possible sources of present day liquid water on Mars were shown. For further information, see the NASA Press Release, the Science article, and images of the evidence
