The term Law can produce in us many contrasting reactions. On one hand it is a synonym of order : one cannot conceive meanings and finality of Life if the ruling law is a non-law, that is chaos. On the other hand, to admit a priori without looking for an explanation, the existence of pre-defined laws, brings us to a dogmatic view of Life, which tends to put heavy limitations not only on our freedom but also on our responsibilities. Observing evolution, it appears evident to us that Life tends towards an increasing order, obtained with great effort by living beings who make part of Life. This presupposes the existence of natural Laws, whose discovery and free interpretation is always left to the responsibility of who lives. It would therefore seem that Life is attracted and inspired by a superior Order and that the task of living beings is to discover and interpretate the meanings of that Order, following their own inner inspirations. |
