The inner work

The Mason carries out his own work in a group, together with other Lodge Brothers, or seperately. His is a work of research and construction.

He uses examples and the advice which are given to him by others Brothersn for his task, although he does not disregard theaspect that everyone is master of himself.

The Mason uses the instruments that come from Art for his own work. These are of two different natures. The first is esoteric, refering to the various forms of thought which are not communicable, like intuition, reflection, contemplation and meditation. Symbols, rituals and allegories are means to make teaching of such forms of thinking easier. The second nature is essoteric and refers to reasoning, discipline and the innner rigor, which always must accompany interior works.

It's very deifficult to distinguish the border line between the two natures, esoteric and the essoteric, of the masonic instruments . Any how to use themwell one must profoundly know the Art which involves the mastery of the speculative and of the operative methods of the Masonry.
