Metals As has already been said, Symbols are analogical transpositions of common concepts. As in the case of Metals, one takes in consideration some of their physical properties to propose other anlogies which refer to states and ways of being which have nothing of material. Metals are more or less easily moulded by the Artist ; they resist in analogous measure to external deformations ; they present different characteristics of inossidability. They are also not always free from impurity. Therefore they well represent the aspects of the Form of our personal Microcosm. By observing carefully, we can see that there are two artificers in the production of our symbolic metals, pure and impure as they are : the Artist, inside the Microcosm, and the influence of the Macrocosm by means of the events. However, metals always represent a Form of the Microcosm, of which we are responsible, either by working actively as an Artist or, passively, as receivers of events. According to masonic Tradition, the impure Metals should always be left outside the Temple. |
