Interior Discipline

The interior work of research can be successful only if it is done under control of a rigorous Discipline, that only we can discover and exert. It should already be clear to everyone that, in our interiority, lying to ourselves will get us nowhere. However, the ability of man of lying to himself is almost infinite.

The attainment of an interior Discipline is one of the tasks of the Masons. It represents one of the most binding "works" of the masonic life. At the beginning, the interior work is symbolically called "stone rough-shaping".

The Art helps us discover inside ourselves the rules to follow which, being artistic canons, do not have a rigidly coercive nature but rather an inspiring nature. However, like in the Art, we must devote ourselves with great seriousness to learning the Mastery, which alone can give us the means for the creation of our works of Art.
